Aigerim Shalekenova
Aigerim Shalekenova — Air transport and aviation safety expert with more than 17 years of comprehensive experience in aircraft engineering, operational execution, regulatory oversight, and strategic advisory. She combines operational expertise—leading aircraft acquisitions and redeliveries, major maintenance programs, and fleet transition strategies across Europe, North America, Asia, and emerging markets—with regulatory leadership: as Director of Airworthiness at the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, she established the national inspectorate, recruited and trained inspectors, developed procedures, and aligned systems with ICAO standards, contributing to sustained improvements in USOAP results (86.5%). In her role as an expert air transport consultant for the World Bank, she advises on sector reform, safety oversight strengthening, airport and air navigation modernization, climate resilience, and investment planning, always focused on implementable and financeable recommendations. She has worked across the United States, China, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Brazil, Indonesia, Central Asia, and the Caribbean, and is valued for her technical rigor, institutional understanding, and execution-focused approach. She speaks English, Kazakh, and Russian.
