Mark Lunsford

Mark Lunsford, B.S., M.S., brings more than 30 years of international experience in airport and air transport consulting, spanning strategy, business and financial planning, privatization and transaction advisory, master planning, operations, safety, disaster resilience, and sustainability. He is the founder and principal of Appian Way Consulting and has advised the World Bank, the IFC, national governments, airport authorities, airlines, and private investors across North, Central, and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. He led major privatization and transaction processes—including the concession of five Brazilian airports—managed the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport master plan, and directed high-profile TSA projects that received an award from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Before founding Appian Way in 2015, he spent more than 20 years at LeighFisher, where he rose to become President. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering, summa cum laude, from Virginia Tech, and an M.S. in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from UC Berkeley.
